In addition to steel Pipe, square steel, and galvanized steel sheets are also materials used in many projects today. So, what is a galvanized steel sheet? What is special about it? If you want to learn about this type of steel, the article below is for you. Check it out now!
What is a galvanized steel sheet? What types are there?
Steel products roll into thin sheets to create galvanized steel sheets. Then a thin layer of zinc is added on the outside by the hot-dip or electrolysis method.
A galvanized steel sheet is produced in flat sheet or coil form. The main component of this type of sheet is zinc (hard zinc and soft zinc). With the zinc coating on the surface, the galvanized sheet is less susceptible to rust due to environmental factors.

Based on the galvanizing method, this steel is divided into 2 types:
- Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Sheet
- Electro Galvanized Steel Sheet
Among them, hot-dip galvanized steel sheets are the most commonly used. This is because the zinc coating will be thicker, more durable, and have a lower price than an electrolytic galvanized sheet. Therefore, in today’s article, we will focus on hot-dip galvanized sheets. Specifically, we will provide detailed hot-dip galvanized iron sheet price quotes below.

Galvanized steel sheet production process
- Step 1: Uncoiling. The steel coils are fed into the machine to uncoil into strips, long steel strips.
- Step 2: Cleaning the steel strip
- Step 3: Putting it into the annealing furnace without oxygen to reheat
- Step 4: Dipping in the plating tank
- Step 5: Drying and cooling the steel strip
- Step 6: Checking and evaluating the thickness of the plating layer
- Step 7: Rolling the rolling machine to make the steel strip smooth after plating
- Step 8: The steel strip is coated with chemicals, dried, and then coated with electrostatic oil to protect the surface.
- Step 9: Rolling
You can see the details of equipment, machinery, and galvanized steel production stages in the picture below..

Advantages of galvanized iron sheet
- Good corrosion resistance: The zinc layer protects the steel from oxidation and rust. Therefore, the galvanized sheet has high durability and a long service life.
- Good heat resistance: Galvanized sheet iron can withstand high temperatures without deformation or loss of corrosion resistance.
- Easy to process: Galvanized sheet iron can be easily processed by many methods. For example, cutting, bending, stamping, welding, etc.
- Reasonable price: Compared with other types of corrosion-resistant steel, such as stainless steel, galvanized sheet iron is much cheaper.

Applications of galvanized steel sheet
with the above advantages, galvanized sheets are used in many fields such as:
- Construction: Galvanized sheets are widely used in the construction of houses, factories, traffic works, etc.
Industry: Galvanized iron sheets are used in the production of industrial equipment, machinery, vehicles, etc. - Agriculture: It is used in the production of agricultural tools, irrigation systems, etc.
- Household appliances: Galvanized sheets are used in the production of household appliances such as roofs, corrugated iron, shops, fences, etc.
