Hello Hello! What is class 150 flange, Bao Tin Steel? Do you sell this type?
Yes, we do. In addition to class 150 flanges, we sell class 300 flanges, DIN flanges, JIS flanges, stainless steel flanges, etc.
To help you better understand the class 150 flange line, Bao Tin Steel has written a short article below. Please refer to the article below.
What is class 150 flange?
Class 150 flange, or ANSI 150LB flange, is manufactured according to the US ANSI B16.5 flange standard. The product is made from steel, stainless steel 304, stainless steel 316, etc. This is one of the indispensable accessories in water supply and drainage pipeline systems.
Bao Tin Steel would like to note that the name Class 150 Flange is just the name of the brothers in the industry. Its correct and complete name is not like that, brothers and sisters.

What is the correct name for the class 150 flange?
One thing is for sure: when you search on Google for “what is class 150 flange,” you will get results or suggestions like:
- ANSI 150 Flange
- 150Lb Flange
And many other definitions.

This result is partly correct. But it is not completely accurate.
Please note a little about these two organizations:
- ANSI stands for “American National Standards Institute.”
ASME stands for “American Society of Mechanical Engineers.”
Although both organizations are internationally renowned for their standards, the main difference between the two is the purpose of their formation.
You can see that clearly in the mission and vision of both organizations.
As a United States agency, ANSI is responsible for accrediting U.S. codes. While ANSI does not develop its standards, its mission is to unify existing standards and condense them for practical purposes.
Meanwhile, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers is one of the oldest standards-setting organizations. ASME has developed hundreds of standards for mechanical equipment and their popularity. And then these standards are reviewed and approved by ANSI.
⇒ So the correct, correct, and complete name of the class 150 flange should be “ASME/ANSI Class 150 series flange.”.
What is Class 150?
In the description of flanges, we often see classes 150#, 300#,… So what do these parameters mean? What is Class 150 or Class 150 to bar…..
Usually, there are 7 different pressure groups (classes), including class 150, class 300, class 400, class 600, class 900, class 1500, class 2500. Note, terms such as “Pressure rating”, “Class”, “#”, “LB” or “LBs” all have the same meaning.
Many of you understand that class 150 flange means that the device works at a maximum pressure of 150psi or 150 x 0.069 = 10.35 bar, is that correct or not? Bao Tin Steel shares with you that the above understanding is not correct. To answer the question of what is the maximum pressure that a class 150 device can withstand, you must find out what type of flange material it is.
See the example below for better understanding.

From the data, we see that the steel flange has a maximum operating pressure of 19.6 bar at a temperature of 29 to 38 degrees Celsius.
