Flange Gasket Classification
ASME B16.2 standard specifies the types, dimensions, materials, tolerances, and product markings for gaskets.
If based on materials to classify gaskets, they are divided into 3 main types as follows:

Non–metallic gasket types
Non-metallic gaskets are usually manufactured by molding from composite material sheets such as aramid fiber, fiberglass, elastic rubber, Teflon, asbestos gasket, etc., and are used for flanges in low-pressure applications.
There are currently 2 types of non-metallic gaskets: gaskets without bolt holes (Gasket raised face) and gaskets with bolt holes (Gasket full face).

Semi-Metallic gasket types
Semi-metallic gaskets are a combination of metal and non-metallic composite materials. The fittings will inherit the pressure resistance, resilience, and durability of metals. Non-metallic inherits the sealing ability and compatibility with the flange surface.
