Steel Flange

A steel flange or flange is generally a plate or ring that forms a rim at the end of a pipe when fastened to the pipe. With main uses are:

Increased strength (flange of an iron beam such as an I-beam or T-beam)
For easy attachment/transfer of force in contact with another object (such as pipe end flanges, steam cylinders, etc.)
To stabilize and guide the movement of a machine or its components (such as the inner flange of a railroad car or an electric wheel, which prevents the wheel from running off the track).

Flanges are connected to each other and to pipes, valves, etc. by using bolt connections.

Specifications of steel flange

Flanges are manufactured in 2 types:

Hollow flange: carbon steel (A105, A36, SS400, Q235), stainless steel (SUS201/304/316)
Blind flange: carbon steel (A105, A36, SS400, Q235), stainless steel (SUS201/304/316)

In addition, people also classify them according to their external shape. Namely weld neck flange, blind flange, threaded flange, and flat flange.

Features and applications of steel flangesFlanges are used to connect pipes to each other, to valves, to fittings, and to special items such as filters and pressure vessels. For the purpose of preventing or minimizing fluid leakage, connecting pipe segments together. Most types of steel and stainless steel flanges are manufactured with standardized specifications so that they can be traded and substituted for other types.
