I use to hear from the people of the world and the brothers and sisters who went ahead. Assume that the U-shaped steel is the U letter.
It was not until I saw the reality that I figured it out. If it follows its design style, it must be the correct C-shape.
If you don’t believe me, just pay attention. If it is a U, the edge must be higher than the groove.
But it’s hard to blame, manufacturers, and then the brothers in the industry are used to calling C-shaped steel U-shaped steel.
With Tiger Steel, it was just a name. You call as long as the other person immediately understands what it is.
But also want to correct you a bit: U-shaped steel is actually C-shaped steel, foreigners call it Chanel steel (literally translated as Steel Channel). Steel channel or C-channel – consists of two equal flanges (two sides) connected to the belly at both ends. U-shaped steel is used quite widely in steel frame structures.
And Tiger Steel is indeed right when people call it that.

That’s what you see. Tiger Steel it’s not wrong, it’s the design of the letter C. And look closely, the U-steel is also very similar to the canal (trough) that carried water in the countryside in the past. It’s no different,

In the table, it is so much, but, in the market, U-steel usually only has steel grades of A36, Q235B, SS400, or CT3.

Applications of the U-channel
U-channel steel is widely used in:
- Manufacturing industry
- Transport equipment, transportation, trucks, tractors, transmission rods, and fixed rods.
- And sometimes it is also used in steel structures. Specifically, in the beams subjected to bending, especially the roof purlins subjected to oblique bending.
- When 2 U-channel steel bars are symmetrically connected, they can be used to make columns or as a bridge in the structure.
